BLACKBIRD AIRPARK: Palmdale, CA.

After many a year of reading about
and seeing pictures of Blackbird Park I
finally made the trek in Aug. 09.  I knew
what to expect at Blackbird Park but,
being there is a special treat for any
Blackbird fan. On display is an A-12,
SR-71, U-2, D-21 drone and an F-117.
There are also aircraft powerplants,
start carts (for use on the Blackbirds),
wind tunnel models, an SR-1 ejection
seat and other related items. I also
donated some media related items on
the NY to London Speed Run / World
Record flights in Sept. 1974. Although
they are only newspaper clippings from
Marysville, CA. and SR pamphlets from
the 1974 Farnborough Air Show I,m
still happy I could contribute
something. I look foward to visiting this
small but, very special airpark again.
