I traveled to San Diego in October to attend the MCAS Miramar Air Show. As usual the Marine Corps put on a top rated Air Show. The Blue Angels were the featured act. The Canadian Snowbirds were also there. Other flying performers included the MAGTF demonstration. This included various aircraft performing such as the Harrier, legacy Hornets, Cobra gunships, C-130 tankers, CH-46s, CH-53Es and MV-22 Ospreys. Together with Marine Corps tanks and various armoured vehicles the troops put on quite a show. The F-22 Raptor went through its paces and put on an impressive display. The F/A-18 Super Hornet performed and then did a Navy Legacy Flight with a WWll F4-U Corsair. The F-16 Demo Team from Hill AFB showed why it is still a top notch air show performer. The static display was a Navy and Marine air power showcase. Lots of Warbirds from all over were there in overwhelming numbers. Very few USAF aircraft were on display. But then this is a USMC/Navy display. One suprize in the static made it worth the drive from Las Vegas all by itself. I was shocked to see two British Tyhoons parked in the static area. I shot these Typhoons more than I could count. 1st time I've ever seen Typhoons what a thrill. What a great day. The USMC put on another great air show. One of the BEST in the U.S. Hopefully I'll be back again and again. Enjoy the photos!
Superfighters Typhoon and Raptor will be featured on page 2 of MCASMiramar 2010 !!!
