MCAS Miramar 2011: US Navy Page
     Navy Centennial Celebration

As I mentioned on the 2011 Miramar
title page the Navy celebrated its 100th
year of Naval Air Power. The static
display shots on this page will feature
Navy aircraft  and Retro painted ones
as well. I'm going to add the F/A-18F
from last years Miramar show to
complete the line-up. One type I was
particularly happy to see were 2 T-45C
Goshawks. I have not seen T-45's
since I shot the NAS Atlanta show in
2000. The two here were retro painted
Goshawks in very nice schemes.
Three retro painted P-3 Orions also
made it to the show. A well published
China Lake Test Center F/A-18C in
high visibility  orange paint was quite
attractive. A  former de-activated S-3B
Viking of VX-30 "Bloodhounds" was
parked on the far east side of the
display ramp. A colorful retro scheme
worth the hunt to shoot.
                              I hope to see more
Naval Air Centennial displays in the
future but, I don't know how likely that
is. If I don't get that chance I'm still very
pleased with the Navy display here at
MCAS       Miramar 2011.  Fly Navy!!!
                      Hope You Enjoy the
