Philippine Air Force Museum
                 July 2011
I went on vacation in July 2011.My
lovely wife and I went to her and my
mom's wonderful birthplace the
Philippines.  On the way from Manila
Airport to Quezon City we went by
Villamore Air Base. My wife's brother
Philip, mentioned about a museum on
the base. I heard that so I knew I had
to plan a visit. On 7/20/11 an ex-boss
of my wife was kind enough to drive us
to the Philippine A.F. Museum. It is
located very near the Manila Marriott
where we were staying for a couple of
nights. Thanks Tito Ronnie.
The museum is located right near the
Main gate at Villamore. We were
granted permission to park and
check-out the museum. For a military
museum in the Philippines I was quite
impressed. I figured it would be some
old derelict airplanes sitting in an old
dirt lot. I was totally wrong. There is a
very nice museum building with a few
aircraft and many Phil.  Air Force
artifacts inside. Early jet engines,
ejection seats, flight gear etc. The
history of the Philippine A.F. is also
displayed in documents, photos and
various airplane models.  The aircraft
inside were a P-51 Mustang,  T-160
Cali Super Pinto Trainer and a replica
of an early Wright Flyer.  The T-160
was a trainer aircraft designed and
built by the Temco Co. in the U.S. The
design dates back to the 1960-70s.
   Outside beside the museum are
various aircraft in a nicely kept display
area. I never knew the Phil. A.F. had a
museum. I'm so happy I was able to
visit and shoot it for everyone to see.
  Salamat!  Enjoy the photos.
